Although we have included some precautions in our
descriptions of the essential oils we use,
the concentrations in our products should not be of any
concern to anyone.

Aloe -
Supports all skin functions and activates the skin's self-healing power. Helps maintain
moisture balance and stimulates blood circulation. Tightens and rejuvenates skin. Helps
heal sunburn.

Beeswax -
the wax from bees is used in some of our lotions to thicken them and bind the other
ingredients together.

Benzoin -
Aroma is a warm scent, similar to vanilla. Soothes, stimulates, comforts and warms. Benzoin is one of the strongest sensitizers and should never be used on
irritated or broken skin.

Bergamot - Aroma is light citrus, floral. Balancing to the spirit. Combats fatigue
due to stress, tension and anxiety. Reputed to strengthen the immune system. The flavoring
in Earl Grey tea. Risk of photosensitivity.

Cajeput -
Aroma is similar to eucalyptus. Stimulating and clearing for the mind. Good for some
aching muscles, rheumatism. Has an anti-spasmodic effect that can aid asthma problems.

Carrier Oil - although we use good quality oils that are good for your skin, the main
use of these oils is as a "carrier" oil in our bath and massage oils - after
all, you have to have something to put the essential oil in ;-)
We use a secret recipe of one or more of the following oils
for our "carrier" oil:
Cedarwood - Aroma is Balsamic, woody, warm. Excellent for relieving anxiety, easing
discomfort of respiratory ailments. Good for treating dandruff. ** High concentration of the pure oil should be avoided by people with
high blood pressure, heart problems or during pregnancy **

Clary Sage - Aroma is nutty, warm, musky. Excellent for balancing both emotionally and
physically. Can help balance extreme emotions and relieve stress. Has been used as an
aphrodisiac. ** Avoid strong concentrations during pregnancy

Clove -
Numbs the nerves. Aroma is stimulating to the mind and memory, helpful in cases of fatigue
and/or depression. Excellent antiseptic. May aid pulmonary problems, sinus infections.

Cypress -
Known astringent, excellent for oily skin, and may be useful for circulatory and
respiratory problems. Eases arthritis pain, aching muscles or menstrual cramps.

Fir Needle -
Good for chest colds, bronchial problems. Warming oil, so it is useful in rubs for
arthritis, rheumatism and other forms of joint pain. Grounding and calming..

Frankincense - Aroma is soothing, warm balsamic. Comforting, helps focus the
mind. Excellent for toning and caring for mature skin. (also known as olibanum)

Geranium -
Aroma is fresh, sweet, rose-like. Useful in balancing the hormones and stimulating the
lymphatic system. Useful in treating menopausal problems and premenstrual tension. Mild
skin tonic, so is good for all skin problems. Balances sebum production. Calming and
refreshing to the psyche at the same time. Helpful in lifting depression and treating
anxiety.

Grapefruit, Pink
- Aroma is warm, sweet, fresh citrus. Good for muscle
fatigue, stiffness, headaches and mental exhaustion. Very helpful in treating oily skin
and hair.

Immortelle - Aroma is vaugely honey-like, with faint floral undertones. One of the
strongest anti-inflamatories, it is antibacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungal. Good for
depression. Relieves aches, pains and menstrual discomfort. Helps to clear the mind, chest
and sinus. Helpful in fading scars. (also known as helichrysum)

Jasmine - Aroma
is floral. Emotionally warming. Relaxes, soothes, uplifts and helps self-confidence. Good
for stress and general anxiety. Excellent for hot, dry skin. Reputedly an aphrodisiac.

Juniper Berry - Aroma is fresh, fruity, woody, gin-type. Good for depression, respiratory
problems, aching muscles, acne and eczema. Avoid strong
concentrations during pregnancy.

Lavender - Aroma
is refreshing, crisp and clean. Good for skin problems of all sorts. Excellent for insect
bites and burns. Helps with insomnia, headaches, muscle pain and circulation. Also helps
with skin cell renewal. Because of its low toxicity, it is good for all ages including
children.

Lemon - Aroma
is light, clean, fresh citrus. Refreshing and invigorating oil. Good for both the
circulatory and respiratory systems. An astringent that helps restore the skin's natural
acid balance.

Lime - Aroma
is sweet, green, tangy and lively. Stimulates, cheers and refreshes tired bodies and
minds. A natural deodorant.

Mandarin - Delicate,
sweet (almost floral), citrus aroma. Promotes cell regeneration, helps prevent stretch
marks. Good toner for oily skin. Calming and gently uplifting emotionally.

Melissa - Aroma
is crisp and lemony with a sweet undertone. Revitalizing to the inner self and calming to
the senses. Helpful in times of grief or bereavement. Helps calm emotions.

Myrrh - Aroma
is smoky, mysterious balsamic. Aids in centering, visualizing and meditation. Actually the
sap or resin from a tree rather than a true essential oil. Useful in protecting against
chapping in the cold. During pregnancy use Myrrh only in
moderation.

Neroli - Aroma
is citrus. Soothes, relaxes, uplifts the spirit and helps maintain confidence. Perfect for
aging, dry sensitive skin and on scars and stretch marks. Sensual properties. Relieves
stress and anxiety.

Orange - Aroma
is bright and cheery. Orange is refreshing and relaxing. Can cause photo-sensitivity in
some skin types, so be careful of applying prior to exposure to sunlight.

Patchouli - Effective anti-inflammatory for the skin,
helpful in healing cracked or inflamed skin, acne, dermatitis and eczema. Tones and
tightens the skin. Helps regulate oily skin and dandruff. Considered an aphrodisiac.

Pepper, Black -
Oil has no smell. Stimulating oil. Good for pre-sports rubs to loosen muscles. Pain
reliever for overworked muscles. Possible aphrodisiac. Strong anti-bacterial and
anti-viral. Warming and comforting for congestion and flu.

Peppermint - Aroma
is a strongly piercing, sharp, minty. One of the most useful oils for easing migraines,
helps clear congestion in the sinuses, and can ease indigestion. Helps with mental fatigue
and concentration. Helps stimulate the lymph system and helps treat sore muscles and joint
pain.

Petitgrain - Aroma
is warm, sharp and woody. Calms anxiety and panic. Has some deodorant properties. Helps
tighten and cleanse the skin.

Rose, otto - Aroma
is flowery and relaxing. The "Queen of Oils" has a calming, supporting effect on
women. Good for depression and grief. Has a balancing effect and can help with PMS
symptoms and during menopause. Helpful to all skin types by refining and softening the
skin. One of the least toxic oils, so it is good for children.

Rosewood - Aroma is warm and woody. This oil is purchased from a supplier who buys
from a plantation in Brazil that reforests. Rosewood can be an aphrodisiac, and
antidepressant, a balance for the emotions and a stress reliever. Effective for treating
both dry and oily skin, stimulates cell growth and can help with acne.

Sage -
Fresh, warm herbaceous aroma. Eases menopausal hot flashes and sweating. Relaxes muscles
when they have been overworked. Quickens the senses and strengthens the memory.

Sandalwood - Aroma
is warm and spicy. Aids in calming the mind and body. Helpful for meditation and has been
used as an aphrodisiac. Acts as a tonic for the immune system. Balancing for both oily and
dry skin, useful in treating acne.

Shea Butter - also
known as Karite or African Butter. Comes from the nut of the Shea Tree. This plant butter
is high in non-saponifiable fatty acids. This unremovable quality of fatty acid is
extremely useful in moisturizing and retaining the elasticity of the skin. Regenerative,
nourishing, protective and softening for dry or damaged skin. Also excellent for sore
muscles.

Tangerine - Aroma is light, sweet citrus. Uplifting, good for oily skin. As with all citrus oils, beware of photosensitivity.

Tea Tree - Aroma
is warm, fresh and somewhat medicinal. Has extensive antibacterial, anti-fungal and
anti-viral uses. Good for acne and in a diffuser to combat flu and other viral infections.

Thyme - aroma
is strong and spicy. Deodorizing, antiseptic. Known since ancient times as a medicinal and
culinary herb. Do not use Thyme when pregnant or if you have
high blood pressure.

Vanilla - Aroma
is rich and sweet. Warming and welcoming, an ideal de-stressor. Eases anger and
frustration giving a feeling of comfort. Sensual aphrodisiac for some.

Vetiver - Aroma
is earthy, spicy and woody. Beneficial in treating nervousness, exhaustion and stress. Has
a balancing effect on both oily and dry skin.

Ylang-Ylang - Aroma
is intensely sweet with a head scent. Valuable for reducing high blood pressure,
abnormally fast heart rate, abnormally rapid breathing. Has a soothing effect and is
especially good for oily skin as it balances sebum secretion. Pacifies the mind creating a
feeling of peace.
